Looking for the best things to do in Boston this weekend? Here are some family-friendly events and activities in the area to add to your list for this weekend.
The third Tuesday in May (as well as every June 1) is International Dinosaur Day! Lucky for Boston kids, there are a couple of chances this weekend to celebrate those prehistoric giants that have inspired curiosity and sparked imaginations across generations: at Dino Safari at Faneuil Hall and at the Dino & Dragon Stroll, which is stopping at the Topsfield Fairgrounds this weekend only. If dinosaurs don’t pique the interest of anyone in your brood, maybe a full-on, flat-out Family FunFEST will do the trick. Or maybe there’s a more musically-inclined taste in fests in your home. If so, check out Somerville’s PorchFest to be serenaded by dozens and dozens of local artists as they perform from the porches of homes across the city.
What about getting the littlest of the littles involved in some musical fun? Sometimes it’s quite a challenge to find activities that are engaging for infants and newborns. GroovyBabyMusic offers a number of weekly music and movement classes geared toward the younger crowd, with options for children as young as newborn. There are in-person and online sessions, indoor or outdoor options at various locations around the Boston area, and even offerings in English or in Spanish. Scroll down to view sessions that are available to drop into this weekend.
